Azure reservations provide significant cost savings.
- Reserved VM Instances (RIs) provide a significant discount over pay-as-you-go VM prices by allowing you to pre-purchase the base costs of your VM usage for a period of 1 or 3 years. Reserved instance discount will automatically apply to matching VMs, you don’t need to re-deploy resources to get reservation discount. The reservation applies only to hardware usage. Windows is charged separately.
- Save on your Azure data storage cost by pre-purchasing reserved capacity for 1 or 3 years. The reservation discount will automatically apply to data stored on Azure Blob (GPv2) and Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen 2). Discounts are applied hourly on the total data stored in that hour, unused reserved capacity doesn’t carry over.
- Save on your Azure Database for PostgreSQL single server reserved vCores costs by purchasing reserved capacity. Discount will apply automatically to the matching database deployments. The discount applies hourly on the compute usage, unused reserved capacity doesn’t carry over. Discount only applies to single server deployment.
- Save on your Azure Data Explorer Markup costs with reserved capacity. The reservation discount only applies on the markup meter, other charges such as compute and storage are charged separately. After purchase, the reservation discount will automatically apply to the matching cluster. The discount applies hourly on the markup usage, unused reserved hours don’t carry over.
- Get a significant discount over pay-as-you-go prices by pre-purchasing Azure Red Hat OpenShift for one year. The discount applies to the OpenShift costs, not to Azure infrastructure costs.
- SQL Reserved vCores provide a significant discount over pay-as-you-go prices by allowing you to pre-pay for the future use of compute capacity for your Azure SQL Database (PaaS) deployments. Additional software costs will still apply. For SQL Server on Azure VMs (IaaS), purchase Reserved Virtual Machines Instances.
- Dedicated host reservations provide a significant discount over pay-as-you-go costs by allowing you to pre-purchase the base costs of your host usage for a period of 1 or 3 years.
- Save on your Premium SSD Managed Disks usage by purchasing reserved capacity. Discounts are applied hourly on the disk usage, any unused reserved capacity does not carry over. Reservation discount does not apply to Premium SSD Unmanaged Disks or Page Blob consumption.
- Get a significant discount over pay-as-you-go prices by pre-purchasing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for one or three years. The discount applies to software plan costs, not to Azure infrastructure costs.
- App Service Isolated Stamp Fee Reserved Instances (RIs) provide a significant discount over pay-as-you-go stamp fee’s by allowing you to pre-purchase the isolated Stamp for 3 years. Meter emitted by an Isolated stamp is influenced by the workers. If no workers are deployed then the stamp emits Windows meter. If both Windows and Linux workers are deployed then the stamp emits Windows meter. The only time you should purchase a Linux stamp is if you will only have Linux workers on the stamp.
- Azure SQL Data Warehouse Reserved Capacity provides a discount over pay-as-you-go pricing by making a pre-payment for cDWU capacity.
- Save on your Azure Database for MySQL compute costs by purchasing reserved capacity. Discount will apply automatically to the matching database deployments. The discount applies hourly on the compute usage, unused reserved capacity doesn’t carry over.
- Save on your Azure Databricks costs by pre-purchasing DBUs for 1 or 3 years. You can use the pre-purchased DBUs at anytime during the term. Unlike VM reserved hours, pre-purchased Azure Databricks DBUs don’t expire on an hourly basis. Your Azure Databricks usage will deduct from the pre-purchased DBUs.
- Get a significant discount over pay-as-you-go prices by pre-purchasing Red Hat plans for one or three years. The discount applies to RHEL costs and not to Azure infrastructure costs. You can purchase Reserved VM Instances separately to save on VM costs.
- Cosmos DB Reserved Capacity offers significant savings over the normal price of Cosmos DB provisioned throughput capacity. You pay a one-time upfront fee and commit to paying for a minimum provisioned throughput level at the following hourly rates for the duration of the reserved capacity term.
- Save on your Azure Database for MariaDB reserved vCores costs by purchasing reserved capacity. Discount will apply automatically to the matching database deployments. The discount applies hourly on the compute usage, unused reserved capacity doesn’t carry over.
- Azure Cache for Redis reservations provide significant discounts (up to 55%) over pay-as-you-go prices, by allowing you to pre purchase instances for 1 or 3 year terms.
- VMware CloudSimple Reserved Nodes provide a significant discount over pay-as-you-go prices by allowing you to pre-pay for the future use of VMware CloudSimple deployments. Additional software costs will still apply.
